A Titan Tray from Rola adds significantly more carrying capacity to any vehicle, especially for off-road adventures, but also at other times when you don’t need the extra visual impact, weight or windage.
Rola’s new low mount system adds roof bars and allows the base of the Titan Tray to remain fixed in place and ready for use, but its sleek profile is unobtrusive when the tray is not in use.
The low mount system has much less impact on the overall style and proportions of your vehicle, and it reduces overall height and drag.
It’s especially effective on the shorter roofs of utes where bulkier mounts and bars have a much more dramatic impact on the vehicle’s proportions.
They are also ideal for SUVs when a full-length rack is not needed. They offer lower overall height, which also makes loading the rack or installing components of the Titan Tray system that much easier.
The Rola Low Mount system is vehicle specific, offering four different types of mounting attachments. Rola has produced mounting feet for different vehicles open or solid rails, for specific anchor points and for gutter mounts.
Vehicle owners can find the right low mount for specific vehicles at the www.titantray.co.nz website.
The low mount comprises three types of components. First, there are the right mounting feet for the specific vehicle — one of the four options above.
Second, there are the interlocking blocks that fit between the inner panels of the Titan Tray. They strengthen the tray and add the stability needed to maintain the tray’s full capacity.
And the third low mount component is the low-profile bars which connect to the end supports, or feet, and the tray. The Titan Tray is the ideal complement to the low profile Rola Low Mount system.
The Titan Tray can be converted from a low-profile flat tray to a full basket tray with the addition of separate, sturdy bolt-on side rails. These are sold in pairs for any or all of the four sides, which provide many cargo securing points.
One of the most versatile features of the Titan Tray is the ability to add attachments to the tracks on the top side and outside edge of the frame rails all the way around the rack, as well as on the centre plates.
Rola’s accessories include water, jerry can or gas bottle mounts, which secure the load with fabric strap tie-downs. These are stronger and more durable than some metal clamping systems.
Other accessories include holders for high-lift jacks, axes and spades, spare wheels, recovery track racks, light bar mounts and awning brackets.
Rola also has New Zealand buyers covered with the range of three weatherproof storage bags, from the massive expandable Platypus Rooftop bag with the ability to expand out to 453 litres by simply unzipping.
The Stormproof Rooftop Bag is aero dynamically shaped to reduce drag, and finally the Rolling Duffle Bag is the baby of the trio, and an ideal back for either on the roof or in the storage area of your vehicle.
New Zealand buyers are benefitting from user feedback following the thousands of kilometres of real-world use in harsh Australian conditions which went into the development of this second generation of Titan Tray.
The corner pieces have been redesigned to slot into new mitred rail corners, which were also made beefier to shoulder more of the work. Mounting slots on the bars were also braced to resist deformation.
Loads weighing up to 300kg can impart a lot of twisting force on the mounting points in a sideways lurch. The structure around the slots was redesigned to be much stronger.
Titan Trays are available in 1200x1200, 1500x1200, 1800x1200, and 2000x1400 sizes.
The larger full-length sizes are obviously best paired with Rola’s highly regarded heavy duty roof-bar mounting or low mount systems.
